When I was a young girl I dreamed of a Prince that would come some day
That Prince would come so brave and strong and whisk me away
That's when I was young and believed in fairy tales
I have grown some to see life is what you make it
I'm not all grown and I still have dreams and I smile
But though all the journeys and all the miles
Part of me still wants to believe
Then reality hits and hits hard and there goes that smile
Now all grown I realize that I'm not destine to have that Prince
You say you love me and I make you smile
You say that I was meant to be yours till death
Though are lives are so far apart and obstacles in the way
You say things will come to together and work out
Your words of gentle love and romantic nights
Yes they inspire me and keep me warm these winter nights
You have touched my soul with your adoring love
You bring the girl within me back to her dreams
The dream of her Prince that will whisk her away
The dreams of fairy tales coming true if you believe
When morning sun hits my face
It was only a dream from long ago
But I need to put my life in order and pray that God will show me
To give me the strength to fix what's broken
To put the pieces together to see if they still fit
To give it one more chance and not run away
Run to the arms of the man I've dreamed all my life
If the man of my dreams want's me happy then he will understand
That if I don't try I'm not the one he thinks I am
All I am is a shallow shell with no heart andsoul
The smile he sees is just a pretense of a heartless woman
Please my Prince let me try to fix my life
If It's meant to be All the pieces will fit
If not I will beg you for forgiveness with tears in my eyes
You may say yes and you may say no
I will understand and cry either with joy or sadness
My heart will be yours till the end of time
I will always remember the man who wrote the words that took my heart
