|
A sharp breeze slashes
through the blades of grass
Plays with the outstretched fingers of trees
that are so starkly sketched
against the smothered stars
As I walk the blackened street
Shadows slip into reality
and reality slips into a dream
Freed by the darkness
I let loose my demon
out to stalk beneath the acid moon
For yet another night
And the Normal Life
Only returning with the sun

It's very stark and grim. An accomplished write. There ought to be a "health warning"
on poems like this that make you shudder. |
