The In-Between Time

Today is almost over,
And tomorrow isn't here.
There is a softly silver, biding
Glow of twilight drifting near.
And a tender, sublime coolness
To the August breeze
That dances so forlornly
Through these ancient willow trees.
It is a time in-between
The there along the now,
A fraction of a moment
In-between the here and how.
A softly whispered wonder
Of what may come to be,
If she awakens to a sunrise
And sets the morning free.
Tomorrow is vague and voiceless.
And today is but a dream
That haunts every waking moment
Of the moments in-between.
Surreal with shades of wonder
Which beckon the shaded breeze
And the whisper of a whatsis
That haunt such simple mysteries.
Today is nearly over,
And when tomorrow is today
We'll see the softly moving
Silver glow Of twilight fade away.
With a tender wisp of morning dew
To greet the August air.
When today is finally over
And tomorrow's everywhere.
