Alone in the darkness, I stumble and fall
Down the pathway to nowhere, that leads to it all.
Theres no light up ahead, just the light left behind,
Its glow fades with the distance, and soon Ill be blind.
Alone in the desert; its bright and so dry,
Blowing sand stings my skin and the sun hurts my eyes.
As I chase a mirage my feet sink in the sand,
Mirages arent real, but I dont understand.
Alone on a rowboat; I go with the tide,
Let it take me away where theres no need to hide.
For miles around all I see is the sea,
And for miles around all thats in it is me.
Alone in a crowd, I feel out of place,
Searching in vain for just one friendly face.
For just one person to hold me, to come be my friend,
But everyone leaves, no ones there in the end.

| I must say that although this is sad it is highly readable. I love the rhyme and flow, very talented writing, well done. |
