Chain on me I fixed myself
for some known reason I need pain
beyond that measured by the flesh
a kind that is deeply engrained
a need to need beyond my own
a need to matter to someone
a need to grieve with gross despair
the minute that they choose they're gone.
I project all my wants and needs
upon a ship that surely sank
emotion perpetually feeds
it's negative. So dark and dank.
Why does a failed relationship
mean an end to everything?
the sun it shines to mock the pain.
Unaware, the birds still sing.
And people who, but for a chance
could be the subject of this rhyme
I never asked them for a dance
maybe there's better luck next time?
But next time means that what just passed
was little more than casual
I thought this time that it would last
all at once a broken spell
I hope that it was not just me
that despaired at what went wrong
I don't blame you, though it hurts like hell
Goodbye.
I wish you well.......
