My Starry Night
Brightness stabbing straight through my soul The chilling warmth of those stars taking their toll. Upon me they look but they do not see I know them yet they do not know me. Innocent beauty twinkles across that mysterious canvas Everyone loves the shinning stars for they are famous. Attempting to contain my emotions, a difficult feat, This love so bittersweet is seemingly a one way street. But oh how I keep driving, stuck on it, My passion for the cold night a never ending pit. Sweet stars stay with me please My time with you too short, such a tease. Oh how I yearn for it to stay night Yet I do not strain or struggle nor do I fight. For the stars always leave in the end this is well known Never does it fail that they leave me alone. When daytime comes I cannot see them, yet they are somewhere Across the world far far away. Yet with who? I do not want to share. Life is not worth the pain I must bare without the night I wish to be with them, I need to see those sparkling stars shine bright. Dreams of them cannot touch reality Reality is flawed but I need this sense of actuality. In their presence I feel light as if I can fly Anything in my power to please them I will comply. I am nocturnal, only daring to close my eyes during day Since then I am away from those stars oh too far away. On this particular night, the best of my life, fear floods within me My heart is caged, locked, and only these stars hold the key. My body convulses, tears burning my cheeks, such painful decay Stars oh sweet serene stars please do not go away. No! No! Oh the loathsome sun now rises The suns brightness comes, yet your light it disguises. It provides me no warmth only slowly slicing me open, giving me scars For oddly I am warmer when with those cruel, beautiful stars. Yet I have hope for my starry night is not always twelve hours apart My stars come and go as they please, for I have given the two brightest stars my heart Those stars gifted in those bright blue eyes
