They say welcome to the land of the free,
Here you can be who you've always wanted to be,
As long as you respect the authority,
Welcome to England.
We lie in the gutter of the country we adore,
We're fighting ourselves in a mindless war,
Corpses of dreams lay washed up on our shores,
Welcome to England.
Come and dance with the drunken child,
She's naked and free in the suburban wild,
They'll kill her, because she's so uniquely styled,
Welcome to England.
We'll sing the national anthem with pride,
But accept that all our dreams have died,
Run away kids but keep your heart locked inside,
Welcome to England.
Now that you've been, don't you want to stay?
We've got you now boy, you can't run away,
Here are the rules; it's time to obey,
Welcome to England.
