You looked so pretty With flowers in your hair I laughed - you giggled When a leave falling From a tree Lands on your head
You were this .Devil With big beautiful Angel Eyes You knew just how to play me I always thought I would remain Your number one song But sadly I fell off the chart
We always played House and Doctor Doctor But I guess at the age of 6 and 7 We were just too young to get married Although we did once Remember it was under the old Apricot Tree Our only guests My pet rabbits With their round little eyes Staring at us - as to say What are you two up to today
And we didn't even had carrots for them Just a chocolate cake made of sand
I remember that dreadful day so well The big old car in your driveway Packed from top to bottom Your sad eyes looking Out the back window As you wave goodbye
How I thought I would just loved to touch Those pretty hands one more time
My green eyes turned blue As I wave back I felt an ice cold hand Punching holes in my heart Emotions surrounded me I really didn't understand
And I waved one more time Goodbye my friend

'We Did Get Married Once' is a very heart-warming poem; and yet the nostalgia, the crying, the heart-aches -- of a friend moving away. Childhoods torn. Life. -- Flint Hunter aka David Louis Firestone Feinberg
