True friends

This liquor is my med
My guitar the only friend
Strum away till you bleed
And drink until it's the end

The wooden surface
The nickel strings
The only shoulder I have
The Only thing that comforts me

The newly opened bottle
The slow burn of every sip
Takes me away from reality
My own little trip

The night plays out
Control is no longer here
Just alone and depressed
Basking in my own fear

A bottle of jack
Gripped in one hand
My guitar on the floor
I'm unable to stand

Shot after shot
Strum after strum
My strings are broken
The liquor left me numb

My friends are opinionated
Leaving there 2 cents
Telling me I need help
That I'm hell bound and bent

Wondering if I care
About the advise given
They haven't been around
Take the 2 cents and be ridden

False hope is what y'all bring
The thought that I belong
Then y'all abandon me
Barely alive in this song

Tonight it's me and you two
My guitar and some jack
My true friends to the end
Who will always come back

Very touching write.
It's so sad but incredibly beautiful writing.
I think we all can relate in a sense.
Keep up the phenomenal writing.
Blessings, huggs,
emy

I don't even know what to say about this... It was terrifying how powerful those words are. It's been awhile since I've read a poem that literally made me tear up... This is definately your best write up to date. Never stop writing.

Farewell,
Alice

I to agree a well scripted write, so sad and truefully painful.

a potent, but effective write. How sad it is that some can only find their comfort or muse in the amber liquid that hides in the bottle. Enjoyed the read. tfs

Hugely moving poem that greatly resonates with me. Fortunately or unfortunately, I can relate. I don't know if I should make a jack and coke or run to AA. Thank you.
