My Soul In The Looking Glass

I stare through the looking glass And see my broken soul hiding in my eyes Crying out to be freed from the sorrow I hold inside Hidden by my smile and all the joy-filled lies
So I take out my trusty razor blade And glide it smoothly across my thigh Trying to relieve the pain that grips my soul Because other comforts are in short supply
Now I watch the deep crimson drops As they stain my ivory white skin Then I look back at my quieted soul And I know, for now, theres less pain within

Interesting poem.
I like how blatant it is.
And also how it seems to explain smoothly how loneliness and masochism can go hand in hand.. |
