I thought I knew what I wanted
Baby, when I said good-bye.
I just wouldn't listen then
Or give our love another try.
I had to find out for myself
What loneliness was all about
And I never missed your loving

I forced it in my head
That it was greener on the other side.
I was so busy looking
I couldn't see wrong from right.

took it for granted much too long.

And take this poor fool back.

I never knew nights...
Could be so long.
I never knew days...
Could feel so wrong.
I never knew lonely...
'Till i walked out the door.

But that love is no more.
