Been There, Done That.

I had my hand in the cookie jar
And I got caught.
Thought I knew where I was headed
When I was lost.
I burned so many bridges
That I can't get back.
Ya, I've been there
I've done that.

Though I made some good money
I spent more than I earned
And I repeated some lessons
But still never learned.
My fickle heart fooled me
Time and again.
Ya, I've been there
And I've done that.

I've seen sweet dreams fade
To whispers 'n' smoke
And bet on some sure things
That sure left me broke.
Though I never pulled the trigger
I've taken the flack.
Ya, I've been there
And I've done that.

If mistakes were on credit
I'd be up to the max.
My hindsight is perfect
It's vision I lack.
I've had good intentions
But my record is bad.
Ya, I've been there
