The cancer has spread through his soul He's just a ghost of who he once was Thoughts plague him just like swarms of butterflies His nightmares infecting his mind Conflicted, the young man fights away the butterflies He chooses to leave it all behind Haunted by the face that stares back at him in the mirror His demons have taken control Embracing his psychosis he refuses to toe the line He has grown restless throughout the years With survival in mind he bides his time Nihilistic and misanthropic, encumbered by sorrow Constricted by apathy and anxiety He sets his sights on a dystopic tomorrow Embarassed by humanity he turns his back on society Consumed by anger, his words cut like a knife He's a saint with a sinner's tongue A devil with a heart of gold Delightfully flawed he broke the mold He won't be tamed, no not in this life He fell in love with death and made her his wife. Oh they say misery loves company So come waste away with me.

What a dark and enticing passage...I imagine a place so hollow and terrifying that it is a home to shadows and horror...beautiful imagery that creeps up the readers spine...a very enjoyable read |
