Sonnet, Ballad, Prose or Haiku. Black ink abscond the pen. Of such rhymes be finest to convey To the bowels of hell a soul can descend.
At the finale of a line, Does a rhyme out of place Pose any disquiet, of a spirit misled And fallen from grace?
A heart once shattered, Can be crestfallen again. And respite only found At the end of the pen.
Standards as set, Consist in their place. One mans pleasure Anothers distaste.
Ah, if pain be the contest Wholl cleave to the top? Be he so clever Or the anguish of one For liberation as sought.?

A good write. I particularly like the structuring of this poem. |
