Selfish and controlling These flaws run deep My loss is great The decline is steep
The realization of my claim, To see it from afar Has gripped me tight Like the night around the stars.
The people I have hurt The manipulation used Has turned to life Within tortured and confused
In the end it's all clear I'm sorrowfully alone Silence deafening the night Reaping what was sown.

Well put. I know what it is to mess up and then reflect on what an Idiot I was, even though I was right at the time.
It isn't the end until the end even if it feels like the end. |

gripped tight like the night around the stars is right...on!! too many poets shy away from rhyme, but i tell you, it has TAKEN ME PLACES i never expected. i've often said i'm a slave to the rhyme, in love with rhythm. so i applaud your choice to rhyme. i also felt the moment. strange how love lost can, as inspiration, closely follows addiction. short, deep, and rhythmic...just like me! |
