To press upward And rise above the world Is to gain a new perception On a summit of infinite height
To sacrifice To feel the pain The chill that burns The purpose, plain
To see the world above the sky Amidst the top where the sun lies Upon the place where God himself looks down To gaze upon us all
And as my flesh cries NO My soul whispers, yes With longing I'll begin my quest
With dreams and baggage yet in hand To journey to a distant land And accomplish what Ive dreamed of Or to sleep forever and dream no more
I hear their cries along the path I see the corpses Remnants of a mountains wrath
With life comes success With death, defeat And my dreams, 29,035 vertical feet Yet I must press on, I must keep climbing
Beloved mountain Sacred sky To the ceiling of the world I'll climb A treacherous beast who holds no wealth Yet at the top I find myself

Oh, to climb Everest. You'd feel on top of the world!
Yet, I also sense a second sub-text about the limits of flesh and the need to know what it is to be a soul, able to travel without the fear or death or the bounds of gravity.
Thanks for posting.
