Life's Song

At the start, a soft melody At seven, the tune slows Then the eye catches another And the darkness starts to grow
A tickle, an itch, an urge Till finally those hands meet While the melody plays lower Solemnly changing its beat
Tired of being ignored, The music sings loud and clear So blissfully enchanting When the lips meet, then say My Dear
But, if ignorance is bliss...
Disaster strikes the notes Fallen, they begin to bleed Sweet life force draining, nothings left Happiness is now not a want, but a need
Forget-me-not demons Rush onto the pages They swathe the notes in shadows Coating them with hatred, with rages
The melodys conductor Skin gray as night Finds his baton snapped in half He does not attempt to fix it; within him, theres no fight
That sweet soft melody of birth Wont ever resume Adjust to the silence Hell knows no tune
