I grew up in Australia from an English pedigree; convicts and bushrangers pioneers and Free
but when I saw New Mexico I shed more than a tear; my head is all things Aussie but my heart belongs to here
I was raised in an arid land maybe that's the key; red dust is in my bones there's wilderness in me. the scent of pine on the wind, the solitude of space tells me there is spirit here within this sacred place
my life is in my homeland and those that I hold dear; but my heart is now enchanted, and that is why I'm here.

Ya know I love this one, TJ. God, it's good to be back where we can read really gooooooood stuff by just headin' to yer page. It was my privilege to introduce Spike to the seventeen states wide listening audience in the western United States on 50,000 watts of 770 KKOB am News/Talk radio in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He made a difference. I'm a certain show host's "resident poet" on the station. Got a lot of kudos fer introducin' the Aussie 'n' twistin' his arm to do the poem, Enchanted, on an immediate whim. Good job, mate, I love ya
