Here I stand.

Contributed by Sirath on Tuesday, 20th September 2011 @ 10:42:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Here I stand, confused, and not sure of my fate.
Here I stand, unable to choose which path to pursue.
I have always been lead, always been told what to do.
They say now is my time, it's my destiny to choose.
Oh lord, what do I do?

Whenever I choose which path to undertake.
A new desire begins to take it's place.
My heart takes hold, like an iron grip.
It forces me back to that oh so familiar place.
Back to confusion, uncertainty, and that place, which I desperately hate.

Here I stand, confused, and not sure of my fate.
This is the life that I face.
These are the emotions that I feel everyday.
Here they come again.
The ones who used to lead me.

"My son, you need to decide what to do with your life."
They tell me to hurry, not tarry, time will not wait.
It's hopeless, so many paths to take.
So many things I want to undertake.

This is what I say.
Why should I be like the others?
So weary, so tired, from doing what it is they hate.
For them, everyday is the same!
Such sad souls, so cold, so miserable.

This is what I say.
Oh no, not me!
Your right, it's my journey, it's my fate!
I'll decide, eventually, which path to take!

This life, this journey, is not to be rushed like an automobile race.
I will take my time, I will savior the taste!
When the moment comes, I will know which path to take.
Until then, I think I will sit back, and enjoy the taste.
After all, this is my life, this is my journey, and it is MY fate!
