ADAPT

Contributed by Czarina on Wednesday, 30th April 2003 @ 02:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I feel the anger, welling up inside
it wants out
it has always been there
but today, it has grown
it reaches out its bony fingers toward the one who hurt me
the one sho cut my heart out
with some dull-edged apathy

Chorus:
I was so much smaller than you
oh i used to look up at you
with so much admiration and love
i would have given you anything you wanted!

The gaping hole in my chest
burns with the fire
of eternal love
the infinite quantity of love
that is not there

(Chorus)

It makes me strong
the anger, the pain
oh, yes
whether you meant to hurt me or not
you did
whether you meant to strengthen me
with this pain or not,
YOU DID

(Chorus)

Now, look what your lttle creature
has become
I am so much stronger than you,
now
and your ignorance of this fact
gives me the advantage
you are overconfident
so I will win

(Chorus)

isn't it ironic
that your greatest adversary
used to be your closest friend
I am only stronger than you
because you tried to make me equal
you had no idea how I would
ADAPT

(Chorus)

May you live with the knowledge of what you have done
may your heart never let you forget
what you did to me

(repeat)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
