With a sharp line and fashionably shambolic hair for my arms,
Divine approval for my armour,
I descend upon the foreign land
Of a stranger long studied,
But never touched.
My quest is a righteous one,
For I feel it.
Him.
The shivers he flows through my body,
When I see my Jerusalem over the horizon.
Often, I am tempted to surrender.
To put down my arms, my faith,
To battle an easier conflict.
But then I look at you,
My big eyed,
Soft skinned desire,
And march onwards.
Hopelessness overlooked.

'The Tenth Crusade' is a lucid poem. your words flow and your point is clear. I think you did an admirable job -- and that you shouldn't worry about what 'others' think -- particularly if they are critical. After all, do you like the same things as everone else? Some things appeal to us, some don't. It's not the intrinsic value of the object, but your own opinion of your poem... that's what matters: what YOU think. Anyhow I think it's a mighty good piece of writing and I encourage you to write more and more and to write about all kinds of subjects. Beautiful poem -- especially the ending.
