Heading For You In The Pouring Rain
The blood rushes to my head. I pause, catch myself. For a second I have to rest a while. Turning over in my mind the things you said Remembering the unhappy look on your face. No evidence of that well-remembered smile.
I have to go over the issues Never pleasant but needed. Why did we argue and fight, break up? What had you reaching for the tissues? When did it all start going wrong my love and Which of our hands emptied our loving cup?
The sun sets on the day and my life. Staring out of the window I choke. God casts down upon the ground his tears of pain While I think of you alone my wife. There must be more and I turn to leave Heading for you in the pouring rain.
