Words pour from my mouth, but all these words are hollow.
You tell me you hear me and tell me you believe me but I dont believe you.
How can you hear these lies and not walk away for the last time.
Its the least I deserve for how I treat you.
I stare at those eyes that accept me for who I am or at least who you think I am which is just another lie.
I dont deserve you.

Those bruises on your arm you lie for me and say you fell down the stares are still there and I can feel your pain as you wash the blood away.
I drink the pain away.

I'm a no good drunk who doesn't deserve you and wishes you would go away so I had one less thing to drink about but still you stay by my side and I wonder why.
Why do you stay next to me when you could leave at any time?
I beat you, I treat you like how I ought to be treated.

For God sake, weve only been married for two years and not a day goes by that we havent yelled at each other at the top of our lungs.
And still I lie and say we can work it out,
And still you believe me I dont know which is worse.

Nothing I do, nothing I say will ever change the way I feel towards you now.
All I feel is regret, if you leave I dont know what I will do Ill probably drink until I die or forget you left, whichever comes first,
And continue that way until the day I die and my tombstone will read Here lay Steve, he was a real hero and people will see the lies which are written and believe them just like you did for far too long.

And yet you tell me youre pregnant, I dont want my son or daughter to live in a world so cruel and corrupt as to let someone like me be a father.
If were going to make this work we have to work together.
Ill stop my drinking, stop my lying.
And I need you to stop your gambling and your smoking
If not for me then for the thought of our child growing up in the kind of world where it belongs.
We might just be able to get through this.

Im going to be a father, I cant believe it
Im going to be a father!
