Quiet Contemplation

Contributed by Despa1r on Wednesday, 26th October 2011 @ 12:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Blind love and broken dreams,
A long day of misery.
All this he gives to me,
There is no God that I can see.

Finally gifted a rose.
Brightened my day, this I know.
Meant to be I suppose.
Too late there she goes.

Now I'm left all alone,
In this dark world that's so cold.
Fearless and bold,
I seek that which I know.

Then in the shadow of the day,
The nightmares are here to stay,
The bodies won't go away,
The blood rushes through my veins.

I wake up in my room,
Breathless in this tomb.
Another day to go through,
So I can creep back to the gloom.

If I had more to say,
I would put pen to paper once again.
Until then in my pain,
This evil I hold at bay.

Thank you I'm meant to say...
I hate this life, what a shame.

Hi, this is some poetry I wrote today. It's from my own experiences and how I was feeling.
Each line is read in two parts. For example, "Blind love" ... "and broken dreams". See the pause in between?

Please tell me what you think. Thanks.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
