Struggling through the darkness
Traveling a rocky road
None see you passing
Or note your heavy load

Struggling through a lifetime
Wind and rain and shine
Often bruised and battered
You battle through your time

Struggling to be beautiful
You come to bud and flower
When I sit and look at you
I marvel at your power

Struggling to make your mark
Before from life you're freed
You burn away your beauty
And in dying leave your seed...
