Grief

Celebrate and drink your fill The coffin lies cold and still,
Dance the night; prance the hall The body perched like a China doll,
Say your speech, smoke your pipe The Casket: Solid, oak and tight.
The Oak stood tall, bold and new The fall was long and brutal by hew,
Carved and shaped by death bound hands For the body that waits for the promised land,
A simple crash was all it took, to snap my neck like a rotten book Death came fast, no time to lumber, it was quick to grant me eternal slumber.
So, drink your fill and celebrate Life for you, for me too late.
