There's a sparrow in the sky, Can you see it flying high? It is free and full of glee Looking up, soaring in light Trusting men, believing them, Once again and once again... Spreading love in every note Of its song... He was the chum of everyone And the fow of none..-
That sparrow up in the sky, Can you see its bewildered flight? Can you see the wind, That impaired its wing, And the feathers falling down, Its eyes couldn't see around To avoid the gusts That caught him off guard...
The same sparrow in the sky, Can you see him flying low, And its glow fading slow..? He is watching right and left, Looking for a place to land. Its heart was busted in two, He was teased anew, Mocked and torn apart, By the cunning crows, By that listless herd, That didn't care about its hurt...
Now can you see the sparrow down, Can you see it on the ground? Everyone is watching him Demanding that sweet, sweet dream But his soul's wan His song long bygone...
But one day will fly again With his sobbing song will tinge the day And its tears will plunge like rain..
