Bombardment

From the trickle
From the drip feed
Slow and steady
Random and infrequent
On cometh the behemoth

Started with a splash
The suckling of new dew
A snowball gathering pace downhill
Bigger and bigger, more and more
Herald the onslaught, the bombardment

The trebuchets unleashed
Coming from distance far
Over hill and valley
Christmas is here!
Merry Christmas to you all
