You Are My Music

You Are My Music

Would that I could put you to song
It would cure all pains and all thats wrong
For whenever I feel ill at ease
I imagine your laughter, a gentle tease
And my head is filled with majestic music.

I think of you and it is there again
That beauteous sound lancing through my pain,
Not the actual sound of your voice
But imbued with my feelings of choice
It is something enhanced into a sweet symphony.

I hear it, ill-defined yet tantalisingly teasing
Symphonic, melodic, unimaginably pleasing,
Existing in thought alone for it is too rare,
Too exquisite a sound for mortal to bear
Too complex for orchestra to reproduce.

The synthesis of feeling and thought
Is a gift of God and cannot be bought
It brings with it this mercurial air
That emanates from who knows where
Which once heard disappears into memory.

So content I lay back and simply marvel
At the harmonies, the light and sparkle.
Happy am I just to have experienced it
And I bless you now for bit by bit
My woes are carried away in the air.

So beautiful. I love all the descriptive words. You make it all come to life on every line.
