Lost In The Waters of Life

Here I am in these open waters
No wife, no mother,no father or daughter
My thoughts are my closest companion
And as we look out into this open horizon
It's hard at times not to feel stranded
The waters of life are deep and despairing
And there seems to be no end to the vastness
Sharks roam its infinite reach
Waiting to devour what falls into its clutches
I know no longer If I have the stamina left to flee
or the strength to stand and fight
One sunken ship, and ill be left to be drowning
Left for dead
Left as testament to those who could not reach the shore
At the mercy of these waters, there is no guarantee
No promise of safety or security
Only a power above knows If I will make it to dry land
Or fall victim to the sea
