It Lies

It stands in front of me, eye to eye
It smiles, It says I do not lie
It promises that all It says is true
What, pray tell, is a mother to do
It says It will take care of all It made
It's got this, made in the shade
It snorts, oh mother, you worry in vain
It smiles, and turns down life's lane
It's face turns away, It's laughter echos
The sound reaches my ears and I know
It's made a fool of my love and trust
All our dreams have turned to rust
It walks on, It's shoulder's shrug
How quickly It pulled out the rug
But I have one thing on my side
Karma is one truly rough ride
No matter what action It poses around
No matter what words It passes for sound
Always remember as you round life's bend
Karma will always get you in the end

But I know who holds the future!
Let God be true, and every man a liar,
especially the one known as Karma!
