I lay on the sea bed the rythm slows down i lay there like driftwood then -silence- no sound.
waves thrash and crash above my head on the ground seaweed as my pillow lungs filled i am drowned
A blinding light dead eyes now have sight my soul swims and yet i fight im so very tired let me sleep tonight. i want to stay here it feels so right,
no use i am weak and i cannot speak i am washed ashore from waters deep then thrust upon a mountain peak reluctantly i accept defeat.
I wonder now how can this be? for i was dead my grave was the sea or was i dreaming momentarily?.
I open up my mouth to speak but salty water is all i leak. i cough and choke then breath in deep i lay there humbled feeble and meek.
why oh lord ? why choose me? is this you plan? my destiny? all is gone washed out to sea so why do you save only me? It isnt fair it isnt right why wont you let me sleep tonight?
crying now shaking violently chilled to the bone to the heart of me I scream out loud scream desperatley "Oh God Oh my lord please hear my plea, there has to be others there has to be Dont leave me alone Its not fair on me Id never survive all this misery"
Then peaceful calm washed over me, subdued by pure serenity filled with the spirit with every heart beat once again i opened, my mouth, to speak
Oh lord i give myself to thee and i promise my faith for eternity I am sorry that i doubted thee" I should have known you would hear my plea, for you have never forsaken me in my darkest hour you are here now i see.
and my body and soul i give you freely for you are the true god of all that there be the one true creator holy trinity.

another amazing one. the blank space at the end gives the reader a slight pause before reaching the comment button to let all these words kind of sink in first. that too was an amazing addition, rather you meant for that to happen or not, i don't know, but if it was accidental it was a beautiful accident...and maybe some readers may stop in that "dead space" so to speak and might want to give themselves to the lord if they have not already. i think before this night is over i am going to have read all your poems.;) |
