I dont know how to tell her the truth
I really dont want to keep it a secret anymore
Im tired of her calling my friends out of their names
When I am the same
She already had a lot on her plate
But its killing me inside since she doesnt know
I will not allow her to continuously put down my friends
Who are exactly like the daughter she gave birth to
I will, maybe, one day be the daughter that she wants me to be
But as of yesturday,
I have been the daughter with feelings
For another womans daughter
Well if she is lost for words, Im sorry
But it had to come out
Mom, I am a lesbian
And I truly hope you can accept my ways
As you did when you didnt know I was gay
