With every mask we burn
We build another
Pull the sleeves down
Cover these scars
Fight for what's already lost
Gasping at straws
Your words litter empty air
You try to pretend somebody cares
Pretend you don't cry as the room spins around making you crazy
making you sick
you wipe off your face and stare down the unknown
put the knife down
put a bandage on an ever bleeding wound solve the effect while ignoring the cause
put on the pretty clothes the make up that covers the bruise plaster on a smile play your part with style and march into the drowning dark
