I once was a man
I once was a man With a strong and honest heart Now Ive become a monster With demons tearing me apart I once held our child in my arms You would look at me and smile Now I can barely hold her My life tainted Dirty and vile I once was a father A husband A priest Now Im a shell Of everything Id ever thought I would be. I once was a husband To an endearingly beautiful wife Now Im barely living Dark nights An isolated life I once was a man Strong and steadfast Unshaken inspired Now Im a monster Broken and bleeding Disgustingly undesired You once knew me Exactly for what I was born te be Now you see me in shadows And you are scared Scared of me I once was whole With a part of you living within me Now Im nothing Youve torn loose And Im half of what I would ever be.
