Archie's Final Project Poem

Contributed by thefacade on Thursday, 5th January 2012 @ 07:28:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Death and love
Born from the same play
Born from the same will.
Regenerated by the same primordial bang
that is exploding now in some distant heart,
which may be a stirring back in time.
But even a fools life makes more of a calamitous riot than death,
in all of her silent glory.
Fear love, and you fear life.
And those who fear life, have already begun playing
the empty notes of their funeral dirge.

Outstanding!
THE best work I have read on this site since rejoining! I found a certain profoundness in my own belief of the ambiguity within. Not ambiguity of subject, as all ideas would end the same, but of purpose.
Death and love are indeed of the same play and of the same will. This is where the ambiguity lies. There is so much figurative angles this opening alone could have meant (did mean?)
But ultimately this is an intriguing spin which reminded me of one of my favorite poets, Rilke who once wrote (or as translated, at least) - "The deadliest death of all is to be alive and not know it."
Indeed it is and indeed those who fear life are playing to their own funeral dirge. AMEN!

SUPERIOR!

Would this be our YPDC Archie? Archie, is that you? Because I know Archie can be profound and this poem be that!

Thank you for an enjoyable read,

Tim
