It's hard to explain to someone why Your heart feels like it's ready to die When your children bid their children adieu When they walk away from them and you
They leave a wide wake of harm in their path If you intervene, you're met with their wrath You try to bring it to the adults' attention You're told it's not your place to mention
Their new partner tries to defend and deflect Their new love insists they're the ones correct You can't wipe the past away until clear Can't make the lives created disappear
However, you can grow up, accept the need Give the lives you've created a hand to succeed You don't have to like your former partner or lover Your child is the one you should want to discover
I tried to stand aside, but with no such luck I'm on the receiving end of a deadbeat mom which sucks Never envisioned my own kids would give no support or love We shouldn't have to give these kinds of parents a shove
Its sounds as if I'm being judgmental, cruel or unfair Think, you've know a family of love, surrounded by care One parent walks away, doesn't want to take care of you Left you scared in the old life as they move into their new
How marvelous it would be if the parent that's gone Could find within themselves a kernel, just one Of love, hope and dreams that would Help to make their child's everyday good
It shouldn't take a verbal battle or yelling over the fence Stand by the person you now love and your children since It's a win win all the way, not a real hard task Care for your children, love your life, that's all I ask

Such an assertive, gentle display of values, expectation 'n' guidance in rhythm 'n' rhyme with the heart. Cold-hearted would be the soul to whom this was addressed to ignore. Powerful.

When you are old you enter the second childhood. Your children have the essence of becoming your parents. They should restrict to having only one or two kids since they already have 2 kids. Life will be enjoyable with all these kids as one family. |
