In The Night

Contributed by missused on Monday, 30th January 2012 @ 10:52:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

In the night, skin collides with endless opportunity and teasing touch.
No words are spoken.
Loves' memory is all that is wanted.

Breathe in the soul of that night's treasure,
the pursuit of an empty hearts happiness.
Embrace the body that gives such pleasure, draped in sheets and bound to his kiss.

Intoxicating, the memory, there is no escape from you.
Moments of blinding passion allow sight of the truth.
Shattered thoughts of rekindled romance, only a feeling of old flame can ignite that universe.

Inches away and worlds apart, the bed has now grown cold.
Yet touching of fingertips leads to caresses of skin and I can feel myself getting pulled back in...
and the night begins again.

I loved it, such dark passion in such few words, keep on writing and I will try to read as much as I can. TY for posting this fellow poet!

You show much promise, with interesting phrasing.
I like the shortness, you don't have to be a professional to write good poetry. I am firm believer in the ideal that good writing should be precise as possible, while still maintaining the beauty of phrase and word.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
