Embargo of the soul

Contributed by the_lost_illusionist on Saturday, 11th February 2012 @ 07:58:37 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

Once there was a soula soul that loved a soul that livedit had a hallowed chant, a chant of its own
There was a voice so sacred a voice so pureit battered all the fear and it gave me hope
Chirping of a thousand birds made its stave and the warm lullaby was its hallowed score
There were voices all around but none was so impeccable, even its silent whisper made an opus
It was the soundthe sound of my soul, a sound which defined mea sound of my own
It stood there intrepid it made them all woeit had a mystical roar, a roar of its own
They told me all their stories they made showed me all their prosthey made me believe that they had what they call a hope
They had a picturea picture of a worlda world so different yet a world so analog
It was the innocence of my soul or a hidden desire to get it allthey call me all upon them and I was standing there with them all
Dirty were their maneuvers and ugly their soulsthey made me lose my virtue, they made me lose it all
And now my soul stands there but silent as a corpsethere is some life inside or have I lost it all
Now there are voices the voices that say it allbut none of them surround me, none say it all
And this is how it all beganthe embargo of my soul

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
