she grabs the knife,
she stands up tall,
she takes a breath,
she starts to fall,
memories flash past her eyes,
slowly she begins to cry,
she wants a release,
there's no way out,
killing herself,
she has some doubts,
she presses the knife up to her skin,
they say this pain will stop, but when?
she closes her eyes, and prays to the lord
the crying has stopped, and so has the hurt
she puts the knife down,
it drops to the floor,
and quietly there's a knock at the door,
her kids speak softly, are you alright?
and Mommy replies in a whisper, you saved me tonight.
