I LISTEN TO MYSELF PRAY EVERY DAY
AND I Continually SAY TO MYSELF DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY
I'VE GROWN TO KNOW YOU OVER THIS 3 YEARS
AND NOW I CAN TALK TO YOU WITHOUT APPREHENSION
TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT
I JUST WANT TO SAY ERIC
WITHOUT YOU THERE'S NO ME
I DON'T KNOW
IT'S LIKE A PIANO WITHOUT THE KEYS
IT'S LIKE A SONG WITHOUT THE LYRICS
IT'S LIKE A TREE WITHOUT ITS LEAVES
IT'S LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY, BUT NO ONE CARES
BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT THERE
WHEN YOU LEAVE YOU TAKE AN IMPORTANT PART OF ME WITH YOU
IT MAY BE HARD FOR YOU TO SEE
BUT WITHOUT YOU THERE IS NO ME
SO WHEN YOU ARE DONE READING THIS POEM LOOK ME IN THE EYES
AND THEN YOU WILL TRULY SEE THAT WITHOUT YOU THERE IS NO ME
