My opinion is that Valentine's Day is for couples and more specifically, the couples in love. That part, the in love part, is not a requirement but it sure helps. Affection, intimacy, those are part of Valentine's Day. Not really a holiday but again, simply my humble opinion...or be it not so humble.
Certainly like the poem though.
