As I Sleep

I think about her now as I try to sleep,
Just thinking about her makes my heart skip a beat.
I have yet to meet her face to face,
But I'm in no race.
For waiting will make it that much better,
When she and I can be together.
It may only be for a little bit,
But it will be enough to get my heart lit.
I once thought my heart was dead,
This was something I really dread.
But just texting her on the phone,
I don't feel so alone.
So now as I close my eyes to to sleep,
I'll be waiting these long months to meet her and one day maybe ask her,
If she'll be mine to keep.
