Bittersweet Life

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I find happiness inside things that seem bittersweet
I swallow down the truth of this life with one big gulp
May I tell you something?
In my heart rests my friends and my lover
Engulfed in my love, they all make me happy
Yet I'm still so sad
This might not make much sense with little explanation

Let me stop for one second,
let me tell you about myself
I'm a confusing person
I'm insecure and indecisive
hesitant and pessimistic
But I try my hardest to be optimistic
Funny, isn't it?
I tend to kick it with some friends, not the friends in my heart but new ones in my veins
Molly, Miss Sassy, Lucy and Alice
Good Golly Miss Molly she's the greatest, my number one.
Once in a while I visit Mary and Jack, but I could do without them
And I like to blast off to the Moon, hoping never to come back down
And I've whipped it, whomping over here and over there
It's all a habit someday I hope I can get rid of
For now, it's just a part of me
It's who I am

My friends, my family, my pets, my girlfriend
That's what my life is
But I still feel broken
Sad and lost
I'm confused and I don't understand this world
My way of fun... Is fun. But I know one day it must come to a close
I don't want to be 40, or even 28, still doing this stuff
But I'm young, for now
I don't know why I'm telling you this or why you're reading this far
It's nothin' special
Nothing crazy
Just a run-on rant, an emptying of a mind
Of a girl in a town, near a city, in a state
In a country
That she thinks is completely corrupt
