ORANGE SKY SUNDOWN

i look out over this sleepy little town
above the horizon is seen a painted sky
what i am viewing is an orange sky sundown
and it is completely beautiful to the eye
there are streaks of purely pleasing light
with hues and colors beyond compare
off in the distance i notice that birds have taken flight
and are crossing through this truly majestic air
the picture depicted here is so serene
brings wishes and hopes to fellow man
but i awaken from what is apparently just a dream
as i blink and all turns into a waste land
my heart sinks as i feel the approaching of a tear
i cry as i turn away from what was dear...

| This is simply beautiful, i think your poems are really good and thanks for your comments too, i would love some feed back on my three most recent poems as im not sure what people make of them , and i will be sure to keep reading yours as i really do think they are well worth reading. |
