We met in a church parking lot, On a Saturday night in June. We were going to a drive in movie, Underneath a bright full moon.
A boy you were in love with, Was with another girl on a date, And he drove his station wagon, So we joined them and that was great.
The girl I loved was your sister. And she was also in the car. So both of us had our eyes on, The other two from afar.
The others went to the snack bar. And that left just you and me. And since it was intermission, I said lets take a a walk, its free!
The youth group did things together, At least once a week or more. But I had never met you, Id have remembered and thats for sure.
Now on our walk I held your hand Because the ground was bumpy, not flat. I did not want you tripping, For Id have been blamed for that.
We looked into each others eyes And that sealed the deal right there. Forty three years have come and gone Since our love joined for us to share.
In eight months time on my birthday Which is Valentines Day each year, I popped the question on a picnic. What we ate, who knows my dear?
