i'm just not the man i used to be i've known sorrow, known some misery seen things that i didn't wanna see lost people who were close to me i wake up to what is another day one that starts off in the same old way i grab my tools and i grab my clay 'cause i have no heart i've heard them say i set out to construct a perfect one something that will work, something that will run to beat ferociously when i am done one that will rage like the burning sun "try, try again" has been a common theme an impossible task is what it seems to make a heart by such primitive means never, ever will a clay heart be seen if only i had one to beat in my chest even a little, not necessarily the best then maybe i could love like all of the rest oh god! why did you give me this test! if you search me out you may find me here working diligently to design what's dear i'm sure success is quite close, quite near oh please help me! i can't do it alone i fear! so, if at all possible please lend me a hand just a little assistance would be so grand i feel my existence has met its span was my life an accident? or was it planned???

I like that it is straightforward and speaks so much truth. I often wonder about the heart and why I feel the way I do. Sometimes it is void when I expected sorrow or joy, and sometimes there is joy or sorrow, when I expected none. What is the purpose? I would say... to exist. |
