emptiness. . .

I long to fall. . . to love again. . .
even if it meant the end of me
I long to hold you. . . your sea-kissed gaze
salty & stinging, an iris treasure
near rainbow's end. . . shades of heaven awaiting me
I long. . . I savor. . . I beg. . . entreat. . .
& sometimes, solemn I sit with sunset
cliffs a' looming, spray rides the breeze
back to the sea I simply sit
in evenings splendor & quietly caress your memory

Loneliness sucks but "caressing memories" does have a tendency to help. I soooooooooooooooooooo love your poetry and miss it (you) when it is not regularly posted. You are definitely gifted.

I too like this poem
the sea as something bigger than our feelings
thus somehow healing for memories and loss.
I can relate
