Drip... Drip... Drip... it falls upon the ground, the secret it is keeping... denies its peaceful sound,
Drip... Drip...Drip... it forms a small red pool, can you not see them there? just blind or yet the fool?
Drip... Drip... Drip... in crimson they do lie, come wash your hands in innocence.... while the wounded cry,
Drip... Drip... Drip... can you hear their silent screams? Drip... Drip... Drip... these innocent that bleed.

Reminds me of the Foxe's Book Of Martyrs,
which your poem seems to describe. It's
a sad commentary on the human condition,
but told eloquently here.

I think the repetition of the drip, drip, drip, really gave this poem more power. The images it brought to mind....yeah, gad, dark and scarey. |
