IT WAS GREAT

It was great to be a daddy,
And just as great to be grandpa.
It's the reason for our living,
And great memories I recall.

It was great to be a husband,
And great to be a son.
I saw this in my parents,
For I had two special ones.

It was great to be forgiven
On the day that I met Christ.
I am on my way to Heaven
With a new eternal life!

It was great to be a soldier,
And to serve with a great pride.
It was great to have a family
With my children and my bride.

It was great on my day of birth,
My mother always told me so.
It will be also great when
Earth finally let's me go!
